Kidney cancer
Kidney cancer is a common disease and the good thing is that it can be curable, if diagnosed at an earlier stage. Normally these are diagnosed as mass in the kidney or a mass in the kidney lining. There are two types of cancer in the kidney one is lump or bump on the kidney and another is in the tumor in the collecting system. These two are different tumors and their treatment and outcomes are very different.
Lump on the kidney or so called kidney cancer: This cancer has better outcome if detected at earlier stage. If feasible removal of a part of kidney or whole kidney is a good treatment. However, newer systems like freezing it or using focused ultrasound can be used to kill the tumor cells. We provide all these treatments. However if the cancer has spread to other organs than one needs more aggressive treatments and added chemotherapy. We provide a comprehensive consultation or a second opinion for the management of renal cancer.
