Urinary Bladder Cancer

Cancer of urinary bladder is a common as it effects significant numbers of people. Interestingly, many patients live with bladder cancer, especially if they were diagnosed with an indolent form of cancer or also called low risk disease.

Cancer of the urinary bladder can be of many types and important decision making depends upon type of disease (low risk or aggressive disease), depth of invasion into the bladder wall or bladder muscles, response to previous treatments and family history.

Low risk disease is managed conservatively with endoscopic or removal of tumor and surveillance is done via urine test and cystoscopy and some special tests if need be. Some patients need chemotherapy instilled in the bladder as well to prevent the recurrence and decrease the progress of the disease.

We at the institute provide services including work up, consultation, cystoscopy, special urine tests, and instillation of chemotherapy in the bladder.
