Vasectomy
Vasectomy is a surgical procedure for male sterilization for permanent contraception. During the procedure, the male vas deferens (both) are severed and then tied under local anesthesia. It prevents sperms from entering into the ejaculate and thereby prevents fertilization. An egg cannot be fertilized when there are no sperm in the semen.Sperm are made in the testicles and pass through vasa deferentia to get mixed with seminal fluids and finally form semen. Vasectomy blocks both vas deferens and keeps sperm out of the seminal fluid. However you will continue to ejaculate seminal fluid which will ultimately become free of sperms.
The sperms are absorbed by the body instead of being ejaculated. Please remember it takes 4-6 weeks after vasectomy for sterilization to take effect. Do not use unprotected (feel free to do protected sex) sex after vasectomy until you are cleared by your doctor. Prior to clearance from your physician an unprotected sex carries a risk of fathering a child.
